Welcome to the Journal „Digital discourses“, an open-access, peer-reviewed journal addressing the impact of digitality on linguistics and especially on discourse linguistics. The scope of the articles encompasses (discourse) linguistic case studies of digital media and platforms but also studies on digital methods. The journal evolved out of the scientific network „Diskurse - digital: Theorien, Methoden, Fallstudien“ (www.diskurse-digital.de). As founding editor, I wish to thank the German Research Foundation (Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft) funding the scientific network „Diskurse - digital: Theorien, Methoden, Fallstudien“ and the University Library of Mannheim hosting the journal.
