Franchir l’insécurité linguistique par les approches plurielles et les pratiques bi-plurilingues
Main Article Content
Abstract
In infra A1 and A1 French Language of Integration (FL2i) courses, learners often experience linguistic insecurity due to factors such as social stigmatization, lack of prior language proficiency, or past experiences of linguistic discrimination. This insecurity can hinder their involvement in language learning. To address this, it is essential to create inclusive and supportive learning environments. We propose exploring how plural approaches, by valuing the languages and cultures present, contribute to a reassuring framework. By integrating intercultural activities and recognizing learners’ existing language skills, educators can reduce linguistic insecurity, strengthen learners’ confidence, and promote active participation. These practices also facilitate understanding of diverse cultural and linguistic contexts, thus easing the process of learning new languages.
